Trip total
Monthly savings, Oct 2026 to Aug 2027 (11 months)
Monthly from regular pay if the flexible income covers Feb to Aug

All costs are rough estimates in USD for planning, not quotes. Check real prices before booking. The flexible income is up to $1,300 a month from Feb through Aug 2027 (7 months, up to $9,100), starting after the Wagoneer goes back in Jan 2027.

Banff-area excursions

Prices come from each operator's official site, in Canadian dollars, converted at 1 USD = 1.4038 CAD (Bank of Canada, Oct 27, 2026). The total multiplies per-person prices by your party (the baby is free almost everywhere). Where the official site uses date-based pricing, the item says check price: type the price you find into its box. National park sites need a Parks Canada pass, which is listed under Car and passes.

Getting around

The best fit is a compact SUV rented at the Calgary airport (YYC). It's about 90 minutes to Banff, there's room for the stroller and car seat, and you can bring your own car seat on the plane for free. The Roam public bus doesn't work well with a stroller and a baby on a nap schedule, so it's only a backup.
